The growing shortage of skilled labour is also forcing the industry to become more efficient. At the same time, the shortage of housing requires shorter construction times and lower costs.<\/p><p>We see an important solution to these challenges in linking digital planning with the serial prefabrication of building components. Thanks to digital construction plans, very different components can be produced to the highest quality, so that architectural individuality is retained. The prefabrication of walls and ceilings with a lower thickness and the use of a higher proportion of recycled concrete also saves building materials.<\/p><p>In future, we want to manufacture windows, insulation, empty conduits, balconies, stairs, columns and pillars as well as ceilings and walls in our new prefabrication plants under the EMC 2.0 label, thereby achieving a degree of prefabrication of more than 60 percent. Compared to conventional construction methods, this reduces costs by at least a tenth and halves the construction time.
