ecoprefab
More efficiency with serial prefabrication
ecoprefab GmbH realizes the serial pre-production of construction components, called prefabrication, to make construction more ecological, efficient, and cost-effective. The subsidiaries prefab nrw GmbH & Co. KG and prefab sax GmbH & Co. KG as companies of our two new prefab plants which are to be built in North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony are combining digital planning with building information modeling (BIM) and a high range of components as a vital building tool of the future.
In order to reduce CO2 emissions and conserve natural resources, properties need to be built using less energy and materials. The growing shortage of skilled labour is also forcing the industry to become more efficient. At the same time, the shortage of housing requires shorter construction times and lower costs. We see an important solution to these challenges in linking digital planning with the serial prefabrication of building components. Thanks to digital construction plans, very different components can be produced to the highest quality, so that architectural individuality is retained. The prefabrication of walls and ceilings with a lower thickness and the use of a higher proportion of recycled concrete also saves building materials.
In future, in our new EMC 2.0 prefabrication plants in North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony, we will produce windows, insulation, empty pipes, balconies, stairs, columns and pillars as well as ceilings and walls, thereby achieving a prefabrication rate of more than 60 percent.

EMC 2.0
The first project of the ecobuilding AG is the realisation of two precast plants, known as EMC 2.0, which are to be built 2025 in North Rhine-Westphalia in Nörvenich and in Saxony in Thierbach. The excellent infrastructure of the sites with motorway and railway connections offers a logistical range of up to 350 kilometres and has abundant cost and environmental benefits.
In future, a wide range of components with a high degree of vertical integration for residential and commercial construction will be produced at both sites. Thanks to an efficient combination of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and prefabrication, construction will be 10 percent cheaper than conventional construction methods and will only take half the time. As a result, ecobuilding AG generates a market demand that utilises the capacity of its two modern plants beyond its own needs.
